Built for how your industry actually works
Workclave tracks work as project-linked sessions, not clock-in/clock-out. That one change fits any team that bills time, runs shifts, or has to prove attendance — and the details bend to your sector's billing, rostering, and compliance needs.
Below: where we see Workclave earn its keep, and how the model maps to each.
IT services & software
The teams Workclave was built for first.
A 30-person services shop in Bengaluru might run nine client projects at once, half of them billed hourly to clients three time zones away. Clock-in/clock-out tells you someone was "present" from 10 to 7 — it can't tell you which of those hours were billable, on which project, or whether the retainer is already underwater. Workclave starts every work block as a session tied to a project and client, so utilisation and billables fall out of the data instead of out of a Friday-night spreadsheet.
- Billable vs non-billable splits automatically by project and client.
- Managers approve sessions inline — no timesheet chasing.
- India Labour Code attendance comes from the same session data.
Digital & creative agencies
Retainers, sprints, and a dozen small clients at once.
Agencies don't lose money on the big obvious projects — they lose it in the ten-minute favours, the "quick revisions," and the retainer that quietly ran 40% over scope. Because every Workclave session carries a client and project tag, that leakage shows up while you can still do something about it, not in the post-mortem after the account goes red.
- Retainer burn-down you can see mid-month, not after.
- Scope creep surfaces per client, per project.
- Recovered hours stay accurate across overlapping work.
BPO, KPO & contact centres
Shift-based floors where adherence is the SLA.
When you're billing a client against staffed hours and graded on adherence, breaks and shift boundaries aren't admin detail — they're the contract. Workclave handles rotating shifts, configurable break and auto-lunch rules, and live online/idle status, then leaves behind an audit-ready record you can hand to a client or an auditor without reconstructing anything.
- Rotating shifts with configurable break and auto-lunch rules.
- Live online / idle status across distributed floors.
- Audit-ready records for client SLAs and labour compliance.
More teams we fit
The same session model carries across sectors. A few more where it lands well:
Consulting & professional services
Billable consultants split across engagements get clean, client-ready utilisation — and rate data stays locked to finance and owners.
Staffing & managed services
Track sessions per deployment and managing manager, mirror your org with departments and reporting lines, and export per-client registers.
BFSI & fintech
Compliance-heavy teams get an append-only access trail over payroll and bank data, encrypted sensitive fields, and DPDP-aligned consent records.
Healthcare & diagnostics
Roster-driven clinical and back-office staff on rotating shifts — accurate payroll hours, no biometric capture, email/OTP sign-in only.
Education & EdTech
Remote, hybrid, and on-campus staff in one view, with leave types and academic-calendar holidays per workspace — and no surveillance.
Engineering & R&D
Project-linked sessions give programme leads a real read on where deep-work capacity is going, without turning the team into a stopwatch.
Questions we get a lot
We're not a 'time-tracking' culture. Will this feel like surveillance?
No screenshots, no keystroke logging, no biometric capture. People start and stop work sessions and attach them to a project — closer to version control than a punch clock. Most teams find it less intrusive than the spreadsheet it replaces.
We bill some clients hourly and others on retainer. Does that work?
Yes. Sessions carry project and client context regardless of how you bill. You get billable-hour totals for the hourly clients and burn-down for the retainers from the same data.
Do we still get a clean attendance register for compliance?
Attendance and the India Labour Code register are generated from the same session data, alongside configurable shifts, breaks, and holidays — so compliance isn't a second system you maintain by hand.
